Motto of Psychosynthesis and a LifeLine exercise

Motto of Psychosynthesis
“The only way out is the way up..”

What does that mean to you?

✨✨✨

LifeLine exercise

In psychology LifeLine can also be referred to as a “narrative identity”.

LifeLine exercise is used to explore your story.

Draw a horizontal line on a paper from birth to now and mark the “ups and downs”.
Marking some of your past major events in the paper, or more if you like (“positive” high / up experiences higher on the paper and “low” ones lower. Connect the dots with a line.

Observe the line that you drew from dot to dot.

From a lifeline perspective you might like to see if you find any patterns emerging in the line and if there is something that appears from time to time.

See how purpose fits into your lifeline? Purpose being something that is truly meaningful for you.
What insights can you find referring to purpose?

Does your lifeline contain the motto of Psychosynthesis somehow?

“The only way out is the way up..”

✨✨✨

Note: in psychosynthesis, the idea is not to bypass difficult experiences, but being present for them and also in addition to cultivate what is truly meaningful.. this might also affect lifeline picture on a way that it starts rising diagonally.
